The Leibster Blog Award.
Recently I was nominated for the Leibster award by Ger over at It’s Me Ethan.
It’s been a long time since I responded to a Blog Award. I was once lucky enough to get nominated for a whole host of blog awards which I originally participated in but then they went viral and I found that I was getting nominated left right and centre. I was always thankful, but I had grown tired of having to reply, tag, nominate, think of questions ETC, ETC… so I stopped, I thanked each person who nominated be but I politely declined.
I saw that I was nominated for the Leibster Award by Ger the other day and instead of doing the usual, I decided to take part. Firstly, because it’s been so long, I thought it would be nice to play the game again, secondly, because I have found and followed a whole bunch of new blogs that I do think deserve recognition.
As most of you know by now, the rules of the game are to answer the questions sent to you by the person who nominated you and then write more questions and nominate others. 11 questions to answer, 11 questions to ask and 5 people to nominate. It asks for a link back to their site, so if You are able to, hyperlink their site name to their website.
So here goes… My questions from Ger…
1- tell me a joke which always makes you smile!
Okay, okay, so I thought about this for ages because there’s one joke that always makes me smile but it’s a bit gross but if I didn’t share that one, I would either have to google a new joke or say I’ve never heard a good joke…. And that would all be lies so forgive me, but here it is….don’t judge….
Two flies are sat on a pile of shit eating, one fly farts, the other fly turns to him and says “do you mind?! I’m eating!”
2- Why are you blogging?
I started blogging when my little one was a baby so that I had an outlet. I had postnatal depression and it helped to deal with it. I have kept blogging because I love it and wouldn’t want to be without it, although I really do need to get back into it properly, I’ve been really neglectful of my blog recently.
3-Coke or Pepsi?
Coke, if I had to choose, but I mostly drink water.
4-Nastiest / nicest comment ever left on one of your blogs?
It was some kid on my fandom blog and I’d put a post about something and he commented saying something along the lines of ‘why did you bother writing such a pointless post?’ I didn’t really know how to respond and I’ll be honest, since that I haven’t really written over there.
5- Dog or cat– there’s no both !
Cats. I used to be a big dog person but these days I prefer cats, they clean themselves, avoid getting wet, go out when they want, come home when they want and in between that there’s fluffy cat cuddles! I should mention that I do have a dog and three cats, I love them equally, honest.
6- Is blogging the same as being a writer?
I want to say no, but, I see this from so many different angles it’s hard to answer… Anyone who writes is a writer, in the same sense that anyone who reads is a reader. Whether that person writes online or in a notepad, they’re writing and if they’re doing it often enough and finding pleasure in doing so, they are a writer.
The difference comes from a career point of view, if you put me up against someone who writes articles for a magazine, they would be a writer, I would be a person who writes a blog, I wouldn’t even say I was a blogger. Place the writer up next to someone who blogs for a living and you have a writer and a blogger….
So in short my answer is yes and no.
7- Name your childhood music crush!
I genuinely didn’t have one, I’m a big music lover and I listen to it for the music, I very rarely know what an artist looks like. When I was younger, possibly until I was in my teens, I thought Tracey Chapman was a white woman, I was bewildered when I found out he was a black man! Honestly though, I’ve only ever had one crush on a celebrity in my entire life! I don’t know why, I just don’t get all hot under the collar when it comes to people on-screen.
8- Have you ever been on TV, if so, what for?
I was in a TV programme once that was filmed in my school, I was about 14 and I didn’t see it, friends told me they saw me though.
9- What could you not live without? (Leave the hubby/wife/ gf etc & kids out of it!)
Genuinely, I’d have a very miserable life without conditioner.
10- If they were to make a movie of your life – what would it be called?
Odd socks and bad hair cuts.
11- Are you delighted I nominated you?!
It’s lovely, usually I would turn these down since I got nominated for a whole bunch when the blog awards went viral. It’s been a while since I was nominated to participate so I though I would!
. What’s the top thing on your bucket list?
. If money were no object and you could buy one single thing, what would you buy right now?
. Do you have any hobbies other than writing a blog?
. What do you love most about blogging?
. Nights in or nights out? What’s your favourite and what would you do?
. What’s your favourite TV show right now?
. What’s your favourite genre of music?
. Did you start your blog with the hope to make it into a job, or to earn another income, or was it just for the writing/hobby side of things?
. Would you call yourself a blogger?
. Winter, spring, summer or Autumn, what’s your favourite season and why?
. What do you enjoy doing when you have a day off?
And I nominate these bloggers to answer them!
I hope you all enjoy being nominated, dont worry if you don’t want to participate, I totally get it! For my followers though, I invite you to check out these Bloggers, they’re all pretty awesome!
Thanks again, Ger, for nominating me.
As always, thanks for reading.
