Sealed bag finger paints!

It was about the time for a new activity yeaterday and I fancied doing something we hadn’t even remotely tired. I’ve seen pictures of this activity on Pinterest but I’ve never really read tutorials or anything because I never thought I’d actually do it with Willow.

I was clearing away some tea towels yesterday in a haze of boredom and saw a box of self seal freezer bags and the idea popped into my mind. I went and gathered all the gubbins and set it all up for Miss Kaboodle.

What you’re going to need.

  • A messy mat
  • Plain paper
  • A self seal bag
  • Paint
  • Strong sticky tape
  • A spoon
  • Some tissue
  • A child (optional)

Place your messy mat down, tape it at the corners. Place the paper on the messy mat and stick it down. Open up the bag and scoop in some paint. Lay the bag out flat as possible and push as much air out of the bag as you can before sealing it up. Tape along the edges of the bag for sturdiness and you’re away!

We used our fingers to make shapes and push the paint around,

My little whump had great fun doing it and so did I, I thought it was quite therapeutic actually! It was easy to make shapes and we said the names of the shapes out loud and mixed the colours together to make new colours and said those words out loud too. We did have a lot of fun but it was cut short unfortunately, Willow was having so much fun she forgot she was stood on a chair, stepped off it and fell onto the floor and bumped her head!

Awww, my poor baby. She got upset after her fall so I put it all away again. I will definitely be doing this again, next time I think I’ll set it up on the floor though!

Take care xx
